Checklist

  • GET A PASSPORT
  • Airline Ticket and travel insurance
  • Traveling Requirements for Children under 18 please ask us or your Travel agent for rules.
  • Cash and credit card for shopping and buying curios- notify your credit card company that you are travelling to South Africa

RIFLES

  • We advise that you bring the biggest caliber you feel comfortable with.
  • No semi-automatic weapons are allowed into the country.
  • Only 1 rifle per caliber is allowed, you can bring 2 or more different rifles.
  • Gun permits will be issued at JHB for minimal charge.
  • Maximum of 40-60 rounds of ammunition per gun will be sufficient.
  • Bring good premium grade bullets, please no ordinary softs.
  • Also bring a thin gun sock or soft rifle bag for local travel.
  • If you want us to supply you with a rifle, no problem.
  • Follow instructions in Rifle section for importation rules.
  • No Malaria precautions or any other inoculations are normally necessary, unless I advise you otherwise.

CLOTHING/GEAR

  • Evenings and early mornings are generally cold 30-40°F it warms up fast to 60-70°F and even to 80-90°F in some months.
  • Rule of thumb – dress in layers so you can take off and putt back.
  • There is no need to over pack, 2 or 3 sets of hunting clothes will be sufficient, also bring 2-3 sets of casual clothes, great for around camp – we have a daily laundry service free of charge.
  • Bring a lightweight rain suit, well-worn in hunting boots or shoes, comfort is the name here.
  • A hat or cap, beanie, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, chap stick, binoculars, camera & small flash light.
  • Shampoo, tooth paste, bath soap, wash cloth, sandals and personal effects.
  • We supply, electric plug converters for recharge of camera batteries and cell phones – these work in most our camps and for the ladies, a hair dryer if needed, your US ones won’t work.
  • We do carry a comprehensive medical kit, but please bring a small one with meds for head ache, allergy, diarrhea, band-aid and prescription medication.
  • Please let us know of any special medical condition you might have and or special dietary needs.
